What your child is learning

Big feelings need small steps.

At three to five, money is mostly feelings: wanting, waiting, the shop-floor wobble. This workbook gives those feelings somewhere to go — guided by Prosper™ the tortoise, who thinks before he spends, saves for things he really loves, and shares when he can.

01

Where money goes

The Three Jars — Spend, Save, Share — make money visible and decidable. Every coin needs a job, and your child gives it one.

02

Calm words for hard moments

Pocket Script Cards put the exact words in your bag for the next "Can I have it?" — "Not today." "Let's check your jar."

03

Waiting, made doable

The Allowance Ladder and the Wait List turn "no" into "not yet" — small, climbable steps instead of a flat refusal.

04

Money through play

Pretend shops, banker games and story prompts with real items — bread, milk, a balloon — so needs and wants get sorted with a picture, not a lecture.

Format & delivery

Everything arrives in one download.

You receiveDetails
The workbook, four waysPrintable and fillable editions, each in A4 and US Letter — all four contain exactly the same forty pages.
Start Here guideA two-page parent guide: which edition to use, print settings, and how to get the most from ten minutes a week.
Currency coin sheetsReal-coin play sheets in UK pounds, US dollars and euros — each in both paper sizes. The workbook itself is currency-neutral.
In-book extrasPocket Script Cards, a cut-out sticker page and neutral play coins, ready to cut out. (The stickers fix with a glue stick — or print onto label paper.)

The printable edition is the one most families use — print it and draw straight on it. The fillable edition has real form fields on the writing pages, so answers typed on a tablet or computer save inside your copy; it works best in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Drawing and colouring pages are kept field-free on purpose — they're for crayons.

Licensed for personal use by one purchasing household · not for resale, classroom or childcare use.

How families use it

One activity a week is enough.

This isn't a curriculum and there's nothing to keep up with. Try one page after a shopping trip or a "Can I have it?" moment. Come back to the jars when pocket money appears. Let the play pages carry the rest. The workbook is designed for you and your child together — your child does not need to read yet.

And when a grown-up wobbles at the shops too — there's a page for that. Pause. Breathe. Repeat your script.

Why not free worksheets?

Because this is a system, not a stack of sheets.

Free printables give a five-year-old something to colour. This gives your family a shared language — jars, scripts, ladders and celebrations that connect into one method, designed to be the first stage of a path that runs all the way to a first paycheque. The same ideas return at 6–9, 10–12 and 13–15, one size older each time.

It's also the companion workbook to Raising Money-Confident Kids — the parent book that explains the why behind every jar. It works well alongside the book, or on its own.

Age fit

Is 3–5 the right stage?

Choose this band if money is still mostly play and feelings — wanting, waiting, sorting. If your child already has pocket money and is making real choices with it, the Ages 6–9 workbook will fit better. Between the two? Start here for confidence; the next stage will be ready when they are.

Questions

Parents usually ask.

My child can't read or write yet. Will it work?

Yes — it's designed for exactly that. You read the short prompts aloud; your child draws, sorts, sticks and plays. The workbook says it plainly: your child does not need to read yet.

How much time does it take?

A few minutes at a time. One activity a week is the intended pace — it's a rhythm, not a programme.

What exactly do I download?

One bundle containing the workbook in four editions (printable and fillable, A4 and US Letter), the two-page Start Here guide, and six currency coin sheets covering UK pounds, US dollars and euros.

Which paper size do I use?

A4 in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of the world; US Letter in the United States and Canada. Both are included and both contain the same forty pages.

Do the stickers actually stick?

They're cut-out stickers, not adhesive ones — fix them with a glue stick or a little tape, or print that page onto label paper and they stick by themselves.

Can I type into it instead of printing?

Yes — the fillable edition has real form fields on the writing and choice pages, and your answers save inside your copy of the file. It works best in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Drawing pages stay printable on purpose.

Do I need the parent book first?

No. The workbook stands alone. The book adds the method and the language behind it — many families use both, starting with whichever suits them.

Start with the jars. Slow is good.
